Big Valley, BA- GO- GA Elders Vegetable and Medicine Garden

Big Valley Rancheria will construct a garden containing plants and medicines traditionally used by their ancestors. Through the project, youth will learn to recognize these plants and forage them; other Tribal members, to plant, harvest, save seeds, and process plants into medicines. The garden will be a cultural landscape space for history, memory, and practice connected to plants, as well as for the continued life and use of the Eastern Pomo language, Bahtssal.
