Black To Our Roots

Spaces of Resistance: Afro-Descendant/Indigenous recipes, food prep methods and cooking techniques

Black to our Roots is dedicated to assisting  Afro-Descendant students and their communities with genealogical and archival methods of research to further their knowledge of the people, places and culture that inform their present etho-cultural identities. Through the collective constructive reconstruction, preservation, and reconnection of Afro-Diasporic histories to Afro-Descendant students and their communities, participants gain a comprehensive historical understanding of their cultural heritage; a trait that has been proven to improve academic performance as well as mental health and well-being.
