United Cambodian Community
Cambodian arts and culture
United Cambodian Community (UCC) is a nonprofit social services agency that has served the Cambodian community in the greater Long Beach since 1977. They have a long history of offering health and human services to a diverse clientele, including elderly, youth, and women. Their mission is to bridge cultural, language, and generational gaps between first-, second- and third-generation Cambodian Americans.
In 2002, as a participant in ACTA’s Traditional Arts Development Program, UCC hired a consultant from the Center for Nonprofit Management to facilitate the development of a strategic plan for the UCC’s Arts of Apsara Gallery & Cultural Center which adminsters UCC’s programs in Cambodian performing arts including dance and music.
