Kokopelli Foundation of Music, Arts & Culture
Navajo arts and culture
As a participant in ACTA’s Traditional Arts Development Program in 2002, the Kokopelli Foundation of Arts, Music & Culture established a program to introduce traditional social dance and songs, and their appropriate protocol, to members of the urban-born Navajo community of Southern California. A series of social events and learning sessions brought together dancers, singers, the youth, and elders to foster a more meaningful connection to traditional Navajo culture outside of California.
