Asian-American Resource Center
Asian-American arts and culture
The Asian-American Resource Center was founded in 1995 to serve the unmet needs of the Inland Empire’s Asian-American communities. Their culturally appropriate development and information programs target populations that are low-income, isolated, vulnerable, and underprivileged.
In 2010, the Asian-American Resource Center received a grant from ACTA’s Living Cultures Grants Program to present a Cambodian New Year celebration in collaboration with the Khmer Buddhist Society. Many in this underserved community do not have the ability, be it geography or economic resources, to experience traditional music, singing, dancing, and food. Grant funds will support the event which will include the appearance of performing artists from the Cambodian community in Long Beach.
