Bay Area Flamenco Partnership

Spanish Flamenco

Representing the area’s vibrant flamenco community, the Bay Area Flamenco Partnership is a grassroots arts organization dedicated to fostering the flamenco arts and creating and presenting quality flamenco to audiences throughout Northern California.  Founded in 2004 by Artistic Director Nina Menéndez, the Bay Area Flamenco Partnership has produced over 40 flamenco performances, providing a forum for the rich pool of outstanding local flamenco artists and facilitating numerous cultural exchange opportunities and workshops with world-class visiting artists from Spain.

Grants from ACTA’s Living Cultures Grants Program  in 2012, 2011, 2010, and 2008 supported the Bay Area Flamenco Partnership’s annual Festival of Flamenco Arts & Traditions.  The festival, which includes workshops and performances from visiting Spanish artists, provides expanded opportunities for cultural exchange to create a context for sharing cultural traditions with local community members, aficionados, students, and apprentice-artists.
