Join ACTA staff and fellow traditional artists for the next La Mesa session of ACTA’s Roundtable Series on Monday, August, 27, 2012, at Gamelan Sekar Jaya in Berkeley. La Mesa: Adornment: Traditional Arts & the Natural World will consider how traditional arts practice is inextricably bound to cycles of nature and the environment.
Demonstrations and conversation will be led by Ohlone master basketweaver Linda Yamane; Hawaiian traditional healer and executive director of the Honu Wellness Center, Suzi Kaiona’okalani Ko; and staff from the Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment, and others.
