The Muwekma Ohlone Preservation Foundation collaborates with Muwekma tribal members and allies to advance the Tribe’s goals of cultural revitalization, resilience, and community education. The Foundation also supports efforts to secure access, ownership, and stewardship of ancestral lands.

Muwekma Ohlone Tribe: Cultural Revitalization Program
Funding will support the Muwekma Ohlone Preservation Foundation’s efforts to pass on Chochenyo language skills, traditional dances, regalia-making, and songs to tribal members. In partnership with the Tribe’s Culture Bearer and Language Revitalization Chair, the program will include community gatherings, development of language resources, and the creation of a digital archive of Muwekma cultural practices.
