Jesus S. Sanchez is the key artist behind Cultura Hecho a Mano: Danza Azteca Beadwork & Regalia Making. His training comes from learning to sew and creating beadwork taught by his godmother, which consisted of learning and perfecting the craft, as well as a lot of trial and error. Jesus has 28 years of creating beadwork, sewing regalia, feather work, leatherwork, designing, painting and illustrating. His crafting experience has been enriched his community members and elders whose suggestions guided him to try different techniques and approaches to different styles and pieces of work. From 2016-2020 Jesus, with Culture is Prevention program at the Native Health Center, offered classes on healthy relationships, while teaching the community how to bead and create various other Indigenous crafts.
