Hālau Ka Pa Hula ‘O Wahineali’i
Hawaiian hula
Hālau Ka Pa Hula ‘O Wahineali’i makes educational resources available to preserve and perpetuate the cultural values of the Native Hawaiian people. To achieve this, assistance from people from Hawaii is often needed. In 2002, support from ACTA’s Traditional Arts Development Program allowed the hālau to contract two mentors from Hawaii to conduct classes a four-day workshop for youth of the community, offering instruction in oli (chant), mele (song), mo’olelo (storytelling), and various arts and crafts of Hawaiian culture.
