Greenly Art Space
Nonprofit arts organization and gallery
Greenly Art Space is a community arts organization dedicated to enriching lives and cultivating community through art. This is accomplished through creating contemplative art shows and offering a space for art making, mentoring, and art therapy. In collaboration with other nonprofits and artists from all walks of life, they strive to create a space that enriches the community while inspiring art for all.
In 2021, a grant from ACTA’s Living Cultures Grant Program will support Greenly Art Space’s Native American Artists: Traditional, Contemporary and Beyond program, in which the organization will facilitate a series of virtual panel discussions between Native American artists working in beadwork, pottery, gourd art, basketry, and visual/oral storytelling traditions. Panel participants will include artists working in both traditional and contemporary/urban modalities, and from a range of tribal backgrounds, including: Cahuilla, Chumash, Tataviam, Hupa, Pueblo of Isleta, Navajo, Cherokee, Patowatomi, Choctaw, Creek, Cupeño, Luiseño, and Kumeyaay. The project will culminate with a curated fine-art gallery exhibition featuring selected artwork from the panel participants.
