About the Artist

Florencia Ramos is a Mixtec woman from Santa Maria Asunción in Juxtlahuaca, Oaxaca. Embroidery is a skill that has been passed down through generations in her family, from her great-grandmother to her. Traditional designs include flowers, birds, and other colorful motifs that represent joy and relaxation for her. She wants to share this tradition with other women, some beginners and others more experienced, to keep this cultural practice alive.
