Chinese Performing Arts Foundation

Chinese classical music

The Chinese Performing Arts Foundation provides greater opportunities for Chinese American youth to retain their cultural heritage and sustain their sense of ethnic identity.  They encourage the broader community to have a deeper understanding of Chinese cultural values that will improve relationships among people of diverse background.

In 2006, the Chinese Performing Arts Foundation received a grant from ACTA’s Living Cultures Grants Program to purchase folk percussion instruments from Suzhow City, China, for use in performance and teaching.  These instruments have enhanced the instruction and performance of Chinese folk music in the Bay Area.
